Quartzite is a hard, non-foliated metamorphic rock and it forms when silica-rich sandstone is altered by metamorphism. Unlike marble, which is mainly formed of calcite, this rock type is quartz based, therefore it is tougher and more resistant to stains, acids and abrasion. With its Mohs hardness of 7, quartzite is one of the hardest natural materials used in the dimension stone industry.
QUARZITE SAMPLE GALLERY
We compiled a modest online sample gallery to give our clients an idea of the available quartzite colours. The sample gallery is not exhaustive. If you are unable to find the quartzite material that you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us. We have a dedicated team who can assist you in sourcing and finding the right stone for your project, or, offer alternatives if needed.
Please note these images are put in place to give an idea of the colour and vein variations present in the quartzite. Misconceptions sometimes occur because of the following reasons:
Quartzite is a natural stone therefore its colour and vein pattern may vary from batch to batch
Samples represent just a small area of an actual quartzite slab
We encourage all our customers to view the selected quartzite slab(s) in person whenever is possible
Slab and sample images are representational only. Due to changes in lighting conditions quartzite slab and sample may appear different in pictures than it does in real life
The displays of smart devices, tablets and personal computers sometimes interpret colours differently
