Marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock that forms when limestone or dolomite is subject to heat and pressure (metamorphism). It is composed primarily of the mineral calcite and unlike granite or quartzite it is less hardwearing and more porous.

Marble is mainly white in colour with the characteristic brown-grey swirls and veins, however, stunning coloured marble varieties are also available. The coloration is often due to various mineral impurities and metal oxides which were present as grains or layers in the limestone before metamorphism took place.

Below you can see a unique selection of marble colours which are suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors. If you are unable to find in this image gallery the marble that you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact us. We have a dedicated team who can assist you in selecting the right stone for your project or offer alternatives if needed.

Please note these images are put in place to give an idea of the colour and granular variations in the stones. Misconceptions sometimes occur because of the following reasons:

– Marble is a natural stone therefore its veining and pattern varies from batch to batch
– Slab and sample images are representational only. Due to changes in lighting marble slab and sample may appear different in pictures than it does in real life
– The displays of smart devices, tablets and personal computers sometimes interpret colours differently

We encourage all our customers to view the slabs in person whenever is possible
